The Vertere SG-1 Super Groove Turntable is a high-performance reference vinyl playback system engineered to deliver extraordinary musical realism, ultra-low noise operation, and exceptional rotational stability. Positioned directly below Vertere’s flagship RG-1, the SG-1 incorporates advanced bearing technologies, precision motor control, and sophisticated resonance management to bring music to life with remarkable clarity and engagement.

Designed using engineering concepts derived directly from the RG-1 Reference Groove turntable, the SG-1 combines aerospace-grade materials, highly refined mechanical tolerances, and advanced motor drive technologies to preserve delicate cartridge signal information while minimizing unwanted vibration and resonance throughout the playback chain.

MAIN BEARING ASSEMBLY

Directly derived from the flagship RG-1 main bearing assembly, the SG-1 bearing system utilizes the same design philosophy, geometry, and precision engineering principles to achieve exceptionally smooth and stable platter rotation. Both the RG-1 and SG-1 utilize Vertere’s proprietary formulated L-1G main bearing oil to maintain long-term rotational accuracy and low-noise performance.

TURNTABLE MOTOR

The SG-1 motor assembly features a proprietary articulated aluminium alloy motor housing utilizing precision bearings to maintain continuous synchronous operation and constant belt tension. This advanced design minimizes interference and vibration while ensuring highly stable platter rotation and consistent playback speed accuracy.

MAIN PLATTER

The SG-1 platter assembly is directly inspired by the flagship RG-1 design and utilizes a super precision machined aluminium alloy structure engineered to provide highly effective resonance damping and rotational stability. The critically designed platter profile and bonded acrylic record interface work together to create a non-resonant structure optimized for accurate vinyl playback.

TEMPO MOTOR DRIVE

The advanced Tempo Motor Drive provides exceptionally smooth and low-noise motor control using sophisticated microprocessor-based circuitry. Operating entirely within the digital domain before conversion via an onboard DAC, the Tempo generates highly accurate sine and cosine waveforms amplified through bridged amplifier stages to deliver stable and low-distortion motor drive performance.

SG-1 TURNTABLE DUST COVER

An optional fully enclosing dust cover is available for the SG-1, designed to complement the elegant aesthetic of the turntable while providing excellent structural rigidity. Constructed from clear cast acrylic panels with dedicated cable cut-outs and integrated hand-grip openings, the dust cover combines functionality with refined visual presentation.

SPECIAL METALLIC FINISHES

The SG-1 is available in premium Special Metallic Black, Metallic Pearlescent White, and Metallic Champagne finishes in addition to the standard clear acrylic configuration. These specially formulated finishes preserve the acoustic integrity of the clear cast acrylic plinth while enhancing the visual elegance of the platform.
