The Rega Fono MC MK4 Moving Coil Phono Stage is a high-performance dedicated MC phono preamplifier engineered to maximize the performance potential of low-output moving coil cartridges. Designed and developed using technology derived from Rega’s acclaimed Aria phono amplifier platform, the Fono MC MK4 delivers exceptional musical accuracy, low-noise operation, and broad cartridge compatibility.

Built around a fully discrete input stage utilizing low-noise Linear Systems LSK389 FET devices, the Fono MC MK4 is optimized to preserve delicate low-level cartridge signals while maintaining outstanding linearity and minimal loading effects. A MUSE operational amplifier is employed within the RIAA equalization stage, while polypropylene capacitors are utilized throughout the signal path and equalization circuitry for highly refined analog performance.

The Fono MC MK4 also features comprehensive gain and loading adjustment capability via rear-panel DIP switches, allowing precise optimization for a wide range of low-output MC cartridges. Housed in Rega’s latest custom aluminum casework design, the Fono MC MK4 combines sophisticated engineering, intuitive operation, and elegant styling for seamless integration into modern high-end analog systems.
