The Vertere RG-1 Reference Groove Turntable is Vertere’s flagship reference record player engineered to recreate the live music experience with uncompromising precision, ultra-low noise performance, and extraordinary musical realism. Designed as the company’s ultimate statement in analog playback engineering, the RG-1 combines advanced mechanical design, precision machining, and highly sophisticated motor control technologies to extract the maximum amount of information from the vinyl groove.
Every element of the RG-1 has been meticulously optimized to minimize resonance, maintain absolute rotational stability, and preserve delicate musical information. From its aerospace-grade bearing assembly and articulated synchronous motor system to its dual-layer damped platter architecture and advanced reference motor drive electronics, the RG-1 delivers true reference-grade analog performance for the world’s finest vinyl playback systems.
MAIN BEARING ASSEMBLY
At the heart of the RG-1 is an ultra-high precision main bearing assembly engineered to provide exceptionally smooth and silent platter rotation. This advanced design minimizes unwanted bearing noise and mechanical interference, ensuring the record is presented to the tonearm and cartridge with maximum stability and accuracy.
TURNTABLE MOTOR
The RG-1 utilizes a sophisticated 24-pole synchronous motor assembly mounted within a proprietary articulated aluminium alloy housing. Precision bearings maintain continuous synchronous operation and constant belt tension, allowing the platter to rotate at highly stable speeds with minimal interference and vibration.
MAIN REFERENCE PLATTER
The platter assembly features a unique two-piece super precision machined aluminium alloy construction designed to provide friction-only damping characteristics. The precisely matched interface between the main platter and platter insert forms a linearly damped, non-resonant structure engineered for exceptional rotational stability and resonance control.
PLATTER UNDERSIDE
The underside of the main platter is precision machined for a highly accurate fit to the spindle block while maximizing peripheral mass distribution. This design improves inertia-to-weight ratio, enhancing speed consistency while minimizing stress on the main bearing assembly for optimal long-term performance and longevity.
PLATTER INSERT
The platter insert incorporates a bonded 2mm cast acrylic record interface disc and is engineered to mate precisely with the main platter surface. Six stainless steel fasteners secure the assembly into a highly stable non-resonant structure, optimizing energy dissipation and playback accuracy.
RG-1 REFERENCE MOTOR DRIVE
The RG-1 Reference Motor Drive utilizes Vertere’s most advanced motor control circuitry to achieve maximum performance and precise speed stability. Seven selectable fine speed adjustment settings allow highly accurate speed trimming from ±0.25% to ±3.00% around both 33rpm and 45rpm operation. The advanced drive system minimizes noise and distortion while delivering exceptionally smooth platter drive characteristics.
SG-1 MK III MOTOR DRIVE
The SG-1 Mk III Motor Drive incorporates enhanced circuitry for improved speed accuracy and power delivery. Fully protected output devices provide smoother and more stable motor drive performance while maintaining elegant and intuitive operation.
RG-1 DUST COVER
An optional fully enclosing dust cover is available for the RG-1, constructed from clear cast acrylic panels designed to complement the elegant lines of the turntable. The integrated design incorporates dedicated cut-outs for tonearm and motor drive cabling while maintaining structural rigidity and aesthetic refinement.
SPECIAL METALLIC FINISHES
The RG-1 is available in a selection of premium special metallic finishes developed specifically to preserve the acoustic integrity of the clear cast acrylic plinth structure. Advanced printing methods allow the application of Metallic Black, Pearlescent White, and Champagne finishes while maintaining the reference-level performance characteristics of the platform.
