Pioneer Elite PD-93 Reference CD Player - For Parts / Repair

The Pioneer Elite PD-93 is a flagship reference CD player from Pioneer's renowned Elite series and represents one of the company's most ambitious digital components of its era. Introduced around 1989, the PD-93 was built with an exceptionally substantial chassis, sophisticated power supply architecture, and dual 20-bit digital-to-analog conversion.

Its construction includes a copper-plated non-resonant honeycomb chassis, isolated power supply sections, twin transformers, and a heavy disc stabilization system. The PD-93 also provides both analog and digital outputs, allowing it to be used with its internal conversion stage or connected to an external DAC.

This unit is being sold strictly for parts or repair. The laser lens is missing, and the required laser assembly is no longer obtainable. Because the optical pickup cannot currently be replaced, this unit should be purchased as a donor for parts, restoration projects, or by someone who already has access to a compatible laser assembly. It is not being sold as a functioning CD player.

This Pioneer PD-93 is NOT fully functional and is being sold for parts or repair. The laser lens is missing from the optical pickup. The required laser assembly is obsolete and currently unobtainable, so we are unable to replace the assembly and return the player to normal operation.

The unit may still be valuable as a donor for its chassis, electronics, power supply components, transport parts, controls, cosmetic pieces, and other internal components. Please purchase with the understanding that the CD playback system is incomplete and the unit will require parts that we cannot source in order to function as originally intended.
