The Pioneer SX-1250 is one of the most celebrated receivers of the 1970s, combining massive power, extensive analog controls, an excellent tuner section, and the classic silver-face and walnut styling that defined Pioneer's flagship components of the era. Rated at an impressive 160 watts per channel into 8 ohms with both channels driven, the SX-1250 was built to comfortably drive demanding loudspeakers while maintaining low distortion and excellent control.
Beyond its powerful amplifier section, the SX-1250 offers dual phono inputs, multiple tape connections, preamp outputs and power amp inputs, extensive tone and filter controls, and connections for up to three pairs of speakers. Its FM/AM tuner, large illuminated analog dial, substantial power supply, and heavy-duty construction make the SX-1250 a true centerpiece for a vintage two-channel system.
This particular SX-1250 is in excellent pre-owned condition and has been professionally serviced at an authorized McIntosh service center. All lamps are fully functional, all potentiometers, switches, and connections have been cleaned, and critical operating points and devices were inspected. The amplifier bias was properly set and the receiver was bench tested under load following service. It is ready to be enjoyed for years to come.
