The Rega Planar 3 Turntable is an iconic high-performance belt-drive vinyl playback system engineered to deliver exceptional musical accuracy, low resonance behavior, and advanced analog refinement. Developed as a complete redesign of Rega’s award-winning RP3 platform, the Planar 3 incorporates extensive engineering advancements throughout the plinth, tonearm, motor system, and bearing architecture.

At the heart of the Planar 3 is the hand-assembled RB330 precision tonearm, developed using advanced 3D CAD and CAM technology and refined through more than 35 years of Rega tonearm engineering experience. The RB330 features a redesigned bearing housing, intelligent mass redistribution, and ultra-low friction precision bearings to maximize detail retrieval and minimize unwanted resonance.

The Planar 3 also incorporates Rega’s lightweight acrylic laminated plinth reinforced with advanced double brace technology to create a highly rigid “stressed beam” structure designed to minimize energy absorption and unwanted vibration transfer. Combined with the 24V low-noise motor assembly, precision float glass Optiwhite platter, redesigned sub-platter, and advanced EBLT drive belt, the Planar 3 delivers highly accurate rotational stability and refined analog performance for demanding vinyl enthusiasts.
